Pregnancy Nutrition
Such an exciting yet overwhelming time with a lot of information and decisions to take on.
Optimal nutrition is valuable for both you and your baby and guidance can be provided to ensure the right nutrients are supplied to your baby, which must come from the foods you eat.
When you have enough nutrients for yourself and your growing baby this means there is less likely to be a depletion of your reserves which can impact your own health.
Nourishing your body will help baby build a strong immune system, gut, healthy bones tissues and organs while also reducing the risks of birth defects, low birth weight, allergies and other conditions later in life.
I enjoy working with pregnant women and want you to feel confident. It is possible with support to reduce your chances of “morning” sickness (day/night, any time nausea!), fatigue, constipation, heartburn, mood swings, pre-eclampsia, anaemia, gestational diabetes, postpartum depression, and more.
Post Partum Nutrition
So much of your energy and nutrient supply goes into growing your baby and it doesnt stop once baby is born.
If you’re breastfeeding, it takes a lot of energy and nutrients to provide for your baby.
What you eat can also directly affect the quality of your breast milk. Providing safe, sustainable options for a nutrient-dense diet will enrich your milk with the nutrients required to help your baby’s brain and body grow and develop and to prevent depletion.
It is so important to nourish yourself in this healing transition so you have enough energy for your baby and to heal and feel rested instead of feeling exhausted.
I believe that when we are offered guidance and can be supported within, we function at our best, which is beneficial for ourselves and as a mother.
Baby Nutrition
I can also assist with nutrition guidance for your baby’s journey into introducing solids, and I’m here for any questions you may have along the way.
Starting solids is such an exciting milestone in your baby’s life. However, it can be a confusing time for parents that is filled with uncertainty and sometimes endless questions about how to address this stage. I can assist you in deciding what approach may be best with starting solids, whether that’s baby-led weaning, purees, or a combination of the two.
I’ll offer clear information on how to choose appropriate foods for your baby that will best support their growth and development and provide the foundation for long-term health. I’ll also support you in navigating any challenges that may come up, such as allergies, food sensitivities, eczema, or constipation.
When you have the knowledge and opportunity to provide food options based on confident decisions for your child’s health, this supports their optimal wellbeing now and in the future.
